Locate your HUD tag, also called the red tag or HUD Certification Label, and you can use that number to retrieve your HUD data plate information from IBTS (Institute for Building Technology and Safety) for a $100 fee. If you can’t find your HUD data plate, there is one more option. The data plate is a large paper sticker that can be found on the inside of a kitchen cabinet door, inside the door to the electrical panel, or on the wall of a closet. Your mobile home’s wind zone rating is listed on the HUD data plate.
